Clinical trials are essential to the progression of modern medicine. Without participation by both physicians and volunteer patients, breakthroughs in therapies and treatments would not exist. The role that physicians and volunteer patients play is paramount to the development and approval of new treatments including medications and devices. Nearly every medication and device is available because of willing physicians and volunteer patients.

Medical research reaches out to both physicians and volunteers for participation. Physicians participate by serving as investigators. As an investigator, you oversee the research at your site which includes reviewing lads, ECG’s and providing physicals. You also get a first glimpse at new treatments or devices in the approval process.
